Building a Strong Technical Infrastructure
Another airline has entrusted Kambr to help build out its revenue management and digital retailing capabilities. A big selling point is Kambr’s direct integration with Navitaire’s New Skies® solution, thanks to the partnership between the two companies.
"The Kambr platform will empower us to make effective and efficient revenue decisions."
Air Premia will have the ability to have its revenue management system and passenger service system tethered together to ensure real-time data connectivity, greater efficiency and complete revenue optimization.
“As a new airline we need freedom, flexibility and collaboration from our technology partners so that we can be lean and agile, without sacrificing speed,” said Myeongseob Yoo, Air Premia CEO.
“We’re getting all of that and more by choosing to work with Kambr. The Kambr platform will empower us to make effective and efficient revenue decisions.”
Grand (Route) Ambitions
This is an important foundational infrastructure for the hybrid carrier, which looks to gain a competitive advantage in the crowded South Korean market, which includes 10 low-cost carriers and two full-service carriers.
Although the airline started operations flying domestic short-haul flights, it has grand international ambitions, which include mid-haul routes to Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam and eventually transpacific long-haul routes to the U.S.
"We’re afforded the opportunity to build a truly state-of-the-art system from the ground up, free of any legacy obstacles or roadblocks."
Given the scope of their operations and the competitive landscape, customer segmentation and personalization will be key features to build out so that its customers can be presented with the most relevant offers possible. This is where the uniqueness of Kambr’s Eddy platform comes into play.
“We’re really looking forward to this long-term partnership with Air Premia — not only does it signal our expansion into the North Asian market, but we’re afforded the opportunity to build a truly state-of-the-art system from the ground up, free of any legacy obstacles or roadblocks,” said Steve Allen, APAC Managing Director, Kambr.
“We’re even more excited about giving Air Premia the tools and knowledge they need to not only compete, but flourish in a dynamic market.”
Doing things differently is the aim of Air Premia. From the beginning they wanted to re-imagine how to build an airline. Although they provide the flexibility and pricing of a low-cost carrier, they provide the comfort of a full-service carrier with a mission to bring “comfort to everyone.”
Air Premia operates a fleet of widebody Boeing 787 Dreamliners in a Premium Economy and Economy configuration.
“Instead of indebting ourselves to the past, we’re looking to the future and what the airline of tomorrow will look like rather than the airline of yesterday,” said Yoo.
